Brodin Anderson
Psychotherapist &Â Couples Counsellor
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and consider me as your therapist. Stepping into therapy can be a difficult decision, so rest assured I do not take it for granted.

I approach therapy with the belief that my clients' lives contain the necessary ingredients to change, grow and heal themselves and their relationships. My role as your counsellor is to create an environment where you will feel heard and accepted.

From this position, I am confident you will be able to identify the patterns that are holding you back or causing you pain. I look forward to supporting you in overcoming them.

If you spend time in therapy

You're going to like what happens.

Don't get me wrong. It's just words.

But words are such a singularly powerful thing.

They are all we have to tell us how things work.

To reveal the nature of a thing.

And the subject of my work

The thing I seek to interpret

Is you.

And you will like what I have found.
Brodin's Approach
I feel very fortunate to pracitce therapy at this time in history.

Person Centered Therapy has established beyond all reasonable doubt that human connection is the key driver of change in therapy. Attachment-Theory has further demonstrated the importance of feeling connected to one's therapist. A therapeutic relationship is one where you experience an unconditional acceptance which allows you to explore yourself and your problems free of judgement or rejection.

Modern science has also deepened our understanding of the human experience in profound ways. Any change you seek to create in your life will require some kind of neurological change within your brain. Approaches such as Interpersonal Neurobiology inform how to shape therapeutic interactions to ensure they contribute to meaningful progress.

Finally, I am an early-adopter of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy. Psychedelics are to the exploration of mind what the telescope is to the exploration of space. Supporting people to prepare for and integrate psychedelic experiences, as well as having my own profound encounters with plant medicine, has expanded my understanding of myself and others. My writing on the subject has been published into peer-review.

My approach is informed by these theories as well as Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Transpersonal Psychology, Compassionate Inquiry, Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfullness based therapies.
