Sliding Scale

Working with a carefully selected student therapist like Kyle means that whatever material you bring into therapy will receive the attention of several experienced clinicians

Student Therapist's Rate

Student therapists work on a sliding scale based on your annual household income:

  • $90k+ = $100 per 1-hour session

  • $65k-$90k = $90 per 1-hour session

  • $45k-$65k = $80 per 1-hour session

  • <$45k = $70 per 1-hour session

We operate on the honor system as much as possible in the rate selection process, so just let us know which rate you qualify for by contacting us below or on the appointment note when booking online.

Please reach out below if your annual income does not accurately reflect your financial situation on account of financial hardships such as job loss, medical expenses, significant debt, etc. Further discounts may be offered in these situations or if your annual income is well below $45k. Please be aware that we reserve the right to request proof of financials for any such discount.

Meet Kyle Labelle

Kyle Labelle is a graduate student in the Master of Counselling program at Athabasca University and is proud to call Manitoba home. As a queer settler of French descent, Kyle values authenticity, equity, and the importance of relationships in both individual and collective well-being. They view counselling therapy as a collaborative and relational process grounded in curiosity, trust, and mutual exploration.

Rather than seeing people as isolated problems, Kyle understands each person's experiences within the broader social, cultural, and relational contexts that shape their lives. They are especially interested in the ways thoughtful conversation, reflection, and relationship can strengthen our capacity to respond to life's challenges with greater intention and agency.

Kyle is particularly drawn to supporting people through periods of change, uncertainty, and transformation, including grief and loss, death and dying, and perinatal experiences. Alongside their graduate training, they bring over a decade of experience volunteering and working in crisis support, bereavement services, sexual health education, harm reduction, community-based learning, and public education. Whether someone is navigating loss, change, questions of meaning, or simply seeking a place to pause and reflect, Kyle hopes to offer a counselling relationship grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and genuine human connection.
